The dashboard works better on phones and tablets

On phones and tablets, buttons and panels no longer cover each other, typing in a field no longer zooms the page, hover-only actions are visible, buttons are easier to tap, every pro-forma year is a swipe away on a phone, and tablets get chat along the bottom.

1.18.7

The dashboard now fits phones and tablets better.

  • Nothing covers anything else. The chat button, the research progress card, Research Running…, the Edit Mode switch and the Save Changes bar no longer sit on top of each other or the page footer. On a phone, the save bar takes up much less of the screen.
  • No zoom when you type. Tapping into the property search, sign-in, a new portfolio name or any other field no longer zooms the page in on an iPhone or iPad.
  • Actions you can reach by touch. Controls that used to appear only when a mouse hovered over them, such as deleting a portfolio, are now visible on touch screens.
  • A tidier header on phones. You can switch workspaces from a phone, the notifications panel stays on screen, and the menu has a close button plus links to the Help center and Changelog. The cookie banner is smaller.
  • Property pages on tablets. The property name stays on one line, section buttons are easier to tap, the header keeps the start of the property's address in view (tap … for the full name and the other breadcrumbs), the Run Intel Report menu scrolls when it is taller than the screen, and the guided tour no longer starts on its own on a tablet. You can still start it from Take a tour.
  • Documents shows where you are. The Documents page now names the property in its breadcrumb.
  • Every pro-forma year on a phone. About three years fit on screen, and you can swipe sideways to the rest while the line items stay pinned on the left. A soft fade at the edge shows there is more to see, and the unit mix and unit list tables show the same hint.
  • Chat along the bottom on a tablet. On an iPad or other tablet, the property chat sits in a bar at the bottom of the screen. Tap it to open the chat and tap again to tuck it away. It never covers the page, the Edit Mode button or Save Changes.
  • Easier to tap. Buttons and links across the dashboard, including the header icons, the breadcrumb bar, page buttons and the footer, respond to a tap anywhere close to them, and pro-forma rows are taller on touch screens. Nothing changes on a computer.
  • Compact portfolio cards on phones. Portfolio cards are shorter, so more fit on a screen, and each one keeps its name, counts, dates and actions.
  • Adding a property from a phone or tablet. The property confirmation screen now reads Add to portfolio to continue. On phones and tablets it no longer shows Not now, only the ways to add the property. To leave without adding it, use the navigation at the top of the page.
  • Coming back to a tab just works. If you switch away while an Intel Report runs and return later, the page picks up where it left off instead of saying your session expired or showing a confusing server message. If something really does go wrong, you get a plain explanation and can try again.
  • Straight into your dashboard after sign-up. There is no "create an organization" step any more: a new account gets its own workspace, with its free credits, and goes straight on. If a teammate invited you, you join their workspace instead. Sign-in and sign-up fields are taller and easier to tap on phones and tablets.
  • Start your first Intel Report in one tap. After you add a property, Run Intel Report is the first button, full width on a phone. Uploading documents is still there as an optional step below it, and The Relm Report, with Schedule a Call, is under More options.
