Tax History says what it found, and lets you fill in the gaps

Tax History no longer says a property has tax data for only some units unless that is really what was found, and when no official record turns up you can add a tax year and enter the figures yourself.

1.18.12

Tax History is clearer about what an Intel Report found, and gives you somewhere to put the numbers when it found none.

  • No more "1 of 68 units". Tax History used to report that it had found tax data for a single unit of a building whenever the record it found covered the whole property rather than one apartment. That was wrong both ways round, and it appeared on dozens of buildings. It now says Tax data found for only some units only when the figures really do cover part of the building.
  • A plain answer when nothing official turns up. Where no city, county or assessor record was found, Tax History says No official tax record found instead of a sentence about partial data.
  • And it says so only when it knows. If the check of the official records could not be completed, Tax History now says Could not check official tax records, with a note that running the report again may fetch them. It no longer tells you a property has no record on file when what actually happened is that we could not look.
  • Add a tax year and type the figures in. A property with no tax records now shows the tax table with the last five years blank and an Add tax year button. Adding a year creates a row you can fill in with the tax bill, assessed value, land value and market value from your own paperwork, in Edit Mode, exactly as you would correct any other figure. It works on the property overview and on the Tax History page, and the table swipes sideways on a phone. A year you already have takes you to that row instead of adding it twice, and a blank new row reads as blank rather than as a tax bill of $0.
