Chat checks federal court dockets and the portals you connect

Ask chat about lawsuits and it searches federal court dockets by the owner and entity names, with a link to each case. Portals your organization connects in Third-Party Services can now be searched from chat, and a saved login only shows Connected after a sign-in works.

1.26.0

What changed

  • Federal lawsuits, answered from the dockets. Ask "have any federal lawsuits been filed here?" and chat searches the public archive of federal (PACER) court dockets by party name — the owner, its entity, the operator — and links each case. Dockets list names, not addresses, so chat says which names it searched. State courts are not covered yet, and the archive holds the dockets someone has already pulled, not every case; chat says so.
  • Your connected portals, from chat. A portal your organization adds under Settings → Third-Party Services (for example PACER or a county records office) can now be searched by name in chat — "check PACER for cases against the owner". Relm signs in with the stored login in an isolated browser. If no working login is connected, or portal sign-in is not available yet, chat tells you instead of falling back to a web search.
  • Honest login status. A newly saved login shows Not tested yet until a sign-in succeeds; only then does it show Connected.
