Research: see your Excel model right in the chat, and edit it

When the Research chat builds a workbook, the first rows now appear right under the file in the conversation, with one click to open and edit it. Larger models build in the background and show their progress.

1.33.0

What changed

  • A preview under every workbook. When the chat builds an Excel model, you see its first rows and columns right in the conversation, formatted the way the workbook is, with a tab for each sheet. No download needed to check the numbers.
  • It looks like Excel. The preview fills its frame with columns A to H, and a long note runs across the empty cells beside it instead of being cut short, the way it does in Excel. Numbers stay in their own cells.
  • Open and edit in one click. The preview's Open and edit button opens the full workbook beside the chat, where you can change inputs and formulas straight away.
  • Big models build in the background. A large request, such as a DCF across a whole portfolio, now builds while you keep working. A card shows what it is doing and how long it has been running, and the finished file and its preview appear in the same place when it is ready.
  • Tidier answers. The same file is no longer listed twice in one reply.

Previews are free; building a model uses credits.
