When a chat answer mentions one of your uploaded documents, you'll see a document references bar under that answer. It lists the documents the answer drew from, each as a chip you can click to open the source.
What's in it
For each uploaded document the answer names:
- Filename with a document icon.
Clicking a chip opens that document in the document viewer. PDFs display right in the viewer; spreadsheets and Word files can't be previewed in the browser, so the viewer offers a download instead.
Why this is here rather than just citation links
For document-heavy chats (especially OM-grounded conversations), a single answer can draw on several documents. The references bar collects them in one place so you can scan all the sources and open each one without hunting through the text.
When it's empty
The references bar doesn't appear under an answer when:
- The answer came from the property's section data rather than an uploaded document.
- The answer was non-factual (a clarification, a "I don't know" response).
- The file it names is no longer on the property, or isn't a PDF, Excel, CSV, or .docx file.
Multi-document answers
If the answer drew from three different documents (OM + P&L + rent roll), all three appear in the references bar. The order matches the order in which the answer first mentions them.
