A consolidated troubleshooting page for the Relm Pro Excel add-in. Symptom → likely cause → fix.

Taskpane won't load (blank panel)

Most likely: Excel can't reach excel-plugin.relm.ai because of a corporate firewall.

Fix:

  1. In a browser on the same machine, visit https://excel-plugin.relm.ai — does it load?
  2. If no, ask IT to whitelist excel-plugin.relm.ai and relm.ai.
  3. If yes, reload the add-in.

Mac dev users: check Trust the localhost cert (Mac dev).

Taskpane shows old UI / out-of-date

Most likely: browser/Excel cache has an older bundle.

Fix: see Update or reload the add-in.

Sign-in code expires before I can confirm

Most likely: the device-link code is good for ~10 minutes; you got distracted.

Fix: click Sign in again to mint a new code. See Sign in via device link.

Sign-in succeeded in browser but Excel still says "Sign in"

Most likely: the taskpane is polling and hasn't picked up your confirmation yet.

Fix:

  1. Wait 10 seconds.
  2. If still not picked up, click Sign in again to retry.
  3. If it consistently fails, sign out from any browser tabs at relm.ai and re-sign-in there before retrying the device link.

Property selector empty

Most likely: you're signed in to an org that has no properties yet, or the wrong org.

Fix:

  1. In the taskpane, switch the workspace selector to the correct org.
  2. Confirm you have at least one property at relm.ai/dash.

Import All Data is grayed out

Most likely: no property is selected, or the selected property doesn't have a generated pro-forma yet.

Fix:

  1. Pick a property in the taskpane property selector.
  2. Confirm the property has a Financial section that's been generated. Run Generate Pro-Forma in the web app first if not.

Push-back fails with "stale lock"

Most likely: someone in your org is in Edit Mode for that property right now.

Fix:

  1. Check the web app — see who has the property locked (banner names them).
  2. Wait for them to save and release.
  3. Retry the push.

If they're clearly idle / walked away and you have admin role, force unlock — but message them first.

Push-back conflicts on every cell

Most likely: someone re-generated the pro-forma in the web while you were editing in Excel. Every cell now has a different cloud value.

Fix:

  1. Use the conflict-resolution UI: pick all-mine if your edits are the canonical state, all-theirs if you want to abandon, or per-cell.
  2. Future: re-import after re-generation in the cloud and resume editing from a fresh starting point.

Excel says "Cannot save the workbook" after push-back

Most likely: unrelated to the add-in. Excel is having a workbook-save issue (Box / OneDrive / SharePoint sync conflict).

Fix: Save As to a fresh filename. Push-back already committed to Relm; the local workbook is just a working copy.

When to contact support

If you've tried the relevant fix and the issue persists, or you don't see your symptom above, contact support with:

  • Excel version (Help → About).
  • OS version.
  • Add-in version (taskpane → avatar → version number).
  • A short description of the issue and any error messages.
